For general structural electrical insulation, Ryertex G10 is often a strong starting point. It offers good mechanical strength and dielectric performance for many rigid support applications. When flame-retardant performance is required, Ryertex FR4 may be the better option. If the application runs hotter, or if the equipment needs more temperature margin, Ryertex G11 or Ryertex FR5 may be more appropriate.
Mica becomes especially important when the application moves beyond what standard glass-epoxy laminates comfortably manage. In higher-temperature electrical environments, mica can provide the combination of heat resistance and insulating performance needed for more demanding components. Choosing between muscovite mica and phlogopite mica depends on whether electrical performance or extreme temperature resistance is the main driver.
