    View More Information

Marinite® C, A, I, M, and P are non-asbestos calcium silicate structural insulators that combine high strength and excellent thermal insulating characteristics for heat processing, fire protection, and electrical resistance applications.

Marinite® A, and Marinite® C are heat treated formulations ideal for conveying, containing, and forming molten aluminum and other non-ferrous alloys. Marinite® P, Marinite® I, and Marinite® M are oven dried formulations designed for various machined parts, fire protection, and heat insulating processes. The ideal fireproof insulation board for your application depends on the specific balance of insulation and strength that you require.

Common properties of these fire resistant insulation boards include:

    • Thermal shock resistance and stability
    • Consistently low thermal conductivity
    • High structural strength at elevated temperatures
    • Incombustible
    • Insoluble in water
    • Corrosion resistance
    • Easily machined
    • Available in 4’ x 8’ sheets and standard thicknesses up to 3”
    • Custom sizes available through WS Hampshire’s custom fabrication services

    CS85 Calcium Silicate

    CS85 Calcium Silicate Board

CS85 is a high temperature, high strength insulation board offering electrical resistance and minimal shrinking in operating temperatures up to 1800 °F. Common applications for CS85 Calcium Silicate fireproof insulation boards and sheets include:

    • Induction furnace casing
    • Platen press insulation
    • Electrical resistance insulation
    • Foundry core and blow plates
    • Hot glass handling

    Transite® HT Calcium Silicate Boards

    CS85 Calcium Silicate Board
Transite® cement boards are engineered to handle higher temperatures, increased loads, and greater electrical conditions with less shrinkage and degradation than other asbestos-free formulas. Busbar supports, press plates, foundry core plates, and arc shields are some of the applications for this heat resistant insulation board.

Transite® is available as Transite® HT, which provides a maximum operating temperature of 450 °F or 600 °F if heat-conditioned. Other benefits of Transite® HT fireproof insulation boards include:

    • Corrosion resistance
    • Economical
    • High density durability
    • Available in 4’ x 8’ sheets and standard thicknesses up to 3”

    Transite® 1000 Calcium Silicate Boards

    CS85 Calcium Silicate Board
Transite® cement boards are designed to withstand higher temperatures, larger loads, and increased electrical conditions with less shrinkage and degradation compared to other asbestos-free materials. Common applications of these fire resistant insulation boards include press plates, busbar supports, arc shields, and foundry core plates.

Transite® 1000 has an operating temperature range of 600 °F to 1000 °F. Other advantages of Transite® 1000 as a heat resistant insulation board include:

    • Corrosion resistance
    • Economical
    • High density durability
    • Available in 4’ x 8’ sheets and standard thicknesses up to 3”

    Thermal Insulation Sheet

Certain industrial applications require thermal insulation sheets to prevent excessive heat loss. Learn more about the two common types of thermal insulation sheets we offer at WS Hampshire.

    Glastherm S Thermal Insulating Sheet

Glastherm Grade S is an economical, general purpose insulation sheet with effective thermal and physical properties. This thermal insulation sheet is ideal for processes where the continuous operating temperature stays below 425 °F. It is available in 3’ x 6’ and 4’ x 8’ sheets with standard thicknesses up to 2”.

    Glastherm HT200 Thermal Insulating Sheet

Glastherm Grade HT200 insulating material is ideal for reducing heat losses from zinc and plastic die cast molds with maximum operating temperatures up to 550 °F. Its thermal insulating capabilities provide faster startups and increased operating efficiency, while its high strength ensures a long service life. The Glastherm HT200 is available in 3’ x 6’ and 4’ x 8’ sheets with standard thicknesses up to 2”.

    Electrical Insulation

When electrical insulation applications require material that is neither a board nor a sheet, mica is a top choice. The natural material provides excellent insulation in various industrial applications.

    Mica
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral commonly used in thermal and electrical insulation applications as a safer alternative to asbestos. WS Hampshire offers muscovite mica and phlogopite mica depending on the desired properties for a given application.

Properties of mica electrical insulation include:

    • High dielectric strength
    • Low heat conductivity
    • Ideal for high voltage applications
    • Easily machined to tight tolerances
    • Available in sheets or tubes
